Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

Posted 1 year ago by skip in response to avatar claire's question: What are the most common monuments to visit in Berlin? (give a different answer) .

The Brandenburg Gate is, unmistakeably, the ultimate symbol of Berlin. Built in 1791, following the plans of Karl Gotthard Langhan, it functioned as the border between the east and the west. Now it stands lonelisome in the middle of the united city (Pariser Platz), hunted by hundreds of photo cameras. Other touristic targets? The Frensehturn (Tv Tower), appreciated for the fine view over the city. It's actually set in Panoramastrasse, and worth a visit at least for having a drink at 207 m. The Telecafe got my attention, that's sure. You'll pay 6 euros for the climbing admission.
