Berlin Philharmonic

Posted 1 year ago by nikon in response to avatar hans's question: What can you tell me about the Philharmonic in Berlin? Who's the maestro now? (give a different answer) .

After the death of world-famous Herbert von Harajan in 1989, his place was taken by the Italian Caudio Abbado and, since 2002, the leader conductor is Sir Simon Rattle. The building, set in Kemperplatz, is outstanding: 9-story, 2,400 seats all next to the scene - no farther than 100 ft. The battle is given, of course, for the seats with a conductor view, especially during the Berlin Festival Weeks in September. For tickets, check www.berlin-philharmonic.com.
