Places to admire in Bamberg

Posted 1 year ago by nikon in response to nonside's question: What are the attractions of the tiny German Bamberg? I can't really get this small town tourism... (give a different answer) .

Situated 60 km north of Nuremberg, it hides enough treasures...The Town Hall, Altes Rathaus, is an eye-catching combination of frescoes and timber carvings. It's set on its own little island, rising above river Regnitz. The Kaiserdom cathedral is a match as well, with its four towers. It was built by Henrich II, hosting his coronation in 1012. In case you're after some down-to-earth entertainment, try the breweries, responsible for 30 sorts of beers (best is the smoky Rauchbeer, first made around 1530).
